Make these festive Double Dipped Mint Chocolate Moringa Patties this holiday season! They’re the perfect, fun treat to have in the fridge, deliciously easy for a healthy treat. A #MoringaInspired recipe by Instagram’s @the_artful_foodie. Makes 15-20 patties in 30 minutes.
For the mint patties:
1/3 cup sweetened shredded coconut
2 tablespoons melted coconut oil or coconut cream
3 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1 tablespoon Pure Moringa Powder
1 teaspoon peppermint oil or peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the chocolate dipping:
2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
1/3 cup cacao powder
5 Tb maple syrup
1/4 tsp cinnamon and cayenne pepper (optional)
Pink sea salt or crushed peppermint candies to sprinkle on top
Combine all ingredients in a blender for the mint patties until combined and smooth. Roll 1-2 tablespoon balls of the filling and flatten in the center of your palm. Chill patties in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
While patties are chilling, mix all ingredients for the chocolate dipping. Feel free to not use coconut oil, cacao powder, and maple syrup. You can also melt regular dark chocolate for the same effect. Mix in spices.
Remove chilled patties from the fridge. Place parchment paper or paper towel under a cooling rack. This is to catch the dripping chocolate and minimize kitchen cleanup. Dip each patty in the chocolate, place on rack to set, for 2-3 minutes and dip in chocolate again. Sprinkle tops of double dipped chocolate covered patties with sea salt or peppermint candy. Place on rack to set, about 5-10 minutes. Keeps for 1 month in a refrigerated, airtight container.
