Moringa is a nutritional powerhouse that offers so many health benefits, especially when consumed every day. Many people wonder about How Often Should I Eat Moringa, and in what form? Powder or capsules?
This article hopes to provide some insight into the best way to incorporate moringa into your diet. Before going into that, we also have an article on 10 Reasons to Eat Moringa Everyday, if you’d like a quick overview of the health benefits.
This supergreen is more nutritious than kale and provides powerful anti-inflammatory benefits that rival those of turmeric. A side-by-side comparison shows that moringa has 2 times as much protein, 4 times as much calcium, and 6 times as much iron as kale. Unlike Kale, moringa also contains polyphenols and isothiocyanates, which have been studied extensively for their role in helping people protect against heart disease and cancer.
We know that moringa is one piece of the “health puzzle,” with many nutritional benefits. But what form is best: powder or capsules?
Moringa Powder: Getting the Best of the Best
If you happen to have a moringa tree growing in your backyard, awesome! Some farmers markets also sell fresh moringa leaves, which you can add to stir fries, stews, casseroles, and more. While organic moringa leaves are great, powdered moringa is convenient and also shelf-stable. You can also add it to smoothies and recipes by adding a teaspoon and viola – dose of supergreens!
Both moringa capsules and powder deliver a boost of antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and nutrients. Overall, powder form is better than capsule form. Let’s explore why.
Powder vs. Capsules: The Process
The process of making moringa powder begins by collecting the leaves of the moringa tree and gently drying them. After the leaves are thoroughly dried they are then pulverized into a fine powder and packaged up just for you. The only difference between this powder and the capsules is the added step of filling capsules with this dried moringa.
So if they are essentially the same exact thing then what is the difference between the two? That’s where we come back to that list of benefits: the dosage in capsule form simply cannot deliver these benefits like moringa powder can.
A single gram of moringa powder can deliver twice as much protein as a serving of yogurt, four times as much vitamin A as carrots, three times as much potassium as bananas, four times as much calcium as milk and fresh moringa leaves have seven times as much vitamin C as oranges! In order to consume a gram of moringa powder in capsule form, you would need to consume several capsules at a time, every day. This can be costly, uncomfortable, and also turn into a sort of chore.
Now What? Moringa Recipes
At Kuli Kuli we have heaps of recipes with moringa powder as the star ingredient. Whether you are sipping on an ice-cold moringa Arnold Palmer or making a vegetable moringa fried rice you are easily—and deliciously—adding the boost of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to your diet.
Of course, there’s always the classic moringa smoothie too with ways to personalize it to your smoothie preference. As we have already seen, moringa can help your body function at its best capacity, but only if you consume enough of it. Most people who feel the energizing effects of moringa need one teaspoon of moringa a day.
Take a look at our recipes on our blog and see how you can take advantage of moringa’s benefits!

Hey Carrie! Yes it is wonderful for your skin as well. In fact, I am working on a post about that very topic right now. It should be posted within a couple weeks 🙂 I also made a moringa mask and will be posting it on the blog in the next month. If you have any ideas that you’d like to see, in particular, let me know!

Do you have a store in Long Beach, CA or Lakewood, CA area?
Hi Mona,
Kuli Kuli products are sold at Whole Foods Markets nationwide! Thank you for reading!
Thanks for this valuable information. For convenience and to ensure my consistency, I’m still going to choose capsules with full knowledge powder is more effective. So, of the numerous capsules out there, can you recommend any or help me narrow the list down? Thanks
Hi Jill,
Since nutritional supplements are not regulated by the FDA, it can be a good idea to find a supplement that is endorsed for purity by a reputable third party.
Hi! I’ve been taking Moringa capsules for about a year now. It’s the only way many people can consume it since the taste is nowhere near delicious (unless you cover it up with lots of fruit juice)! Also, getting some moringa is better than none. The reality, there is no difference between powder or capsules- it just depends on how you prefer to get it into your body.
Hi Rudy,
Thank you for your input! We appreciate you taking the time to read our post!
Yes .. I take Moringa capsules also….I find it easier… The benefits are amazing…

Hi Tonya,
A serving of Kuli Kuli Pure Moringa Vegetable Powder (1 tablespoon) is equal to one serving of vegetables. Moringa is generally as safe to eat just like any other green vegetable, however there is no recommended daily amount. Thanks for reading!
I have also seen the supplement in an oil form. Is this the as good?
Hi Peggy,
We have only worked with moringa powder and therefore do not know the effectiveness of moringa oils. We apologize. Thank you for reading!

Hi Xandie,
We are glad you liked the post. Generally, the cooking methods that decrease the nutritional content of foods the most are boiling and stir frying, but steaming, baking, and similar methods are just fine! Thank you for reading!

After reading the responses, I am confused as to how long I should be using the Moringa. I read one place where it mentions taking for 3 weeks. I assumed, which is a mistake on my part, that I would use it the same way I take any other Daily supplement. Please explain how to properly take this powder form product and should I still continue taking my other multi vitamins. Thanks
Hi Cheryl,
Since moringa is a leafy green similar to kale or spinach, it can be eaten or used just as you would use any other leafy green!
Hi how many capsules of moringa should I take daily. I can’t use powder I tried it and became nausea and my stomach cramped for hours thereafter.

Hi Shane,
If you are currently taking a moringa capsule, we recommend that you follow the recommended dose listed on the packaging or consulting a doctor who can provide recommendations on supplement usage.

What happen if i drink 5grams equivalent of moringa capsule everyday?
Natural moringa leaves are very tasty. I am fortunate to be in place where I can pluck it from tree stir fry it and eat it. I have always liked it from my childhood, even when I didn’t know it’s benefits.
Does moringa show any noticeable difference to help with ED? I’ve read it does. If so, what is the best form to consume it for this benefit? For what period of time would one take it before noticing the benefits? Thank you for your feedback!
